Bio
Hello, my name is Rob. Nice to meet you.

My favorite things to do are to watch great films, great TV, and great musical theatre, and to read. A lot. Mostly sci-fi and fantasy, but literature, too. I write, but not as much as I would like. Which I should definitely start doing again, since I want to pursue writing as a career. My dream job in the future would be working in the TV, film, or theatre industries, as some sort of critic or pop culture analyst. At the moment, I'm in grad school, pursuing an MFA degree in dramaturgy and interning at the Atlantic Theatre Company, which produces one of my favorite shows of all time, "Spring Awakening."

What else is there to say? Um...I have a great boyfriend. We have an apartment in New York. I have a blonde poodle named Jake, a brown-colored mutt named Melanie (she's a rescue, and I don't know her actual breed), and a Tuxedo cat, Nate. I hate cherries or anything cherry-flavored. I love pasta. I can't wake up in the mornings and can't fall asleep at night. My personal gods are Ben Folds, Joss Whedon, William Finn, and my DVR. My favorite actor of all time is James Dean. My favorite actress is Drew Barrymore. I love Star Wars and Star Trek. Some of my favorite books are Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," Dave Eggers' "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius," Susanna Clarke's "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell," David Eddings' "The Belgariad," Mercedes Lackey's "Magic's Pawn," and Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and some of my favorite movies are "The Wizard of Oz," "Moulin Rouge," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and "Donnie Darko." Other favorite musicals of mine, besides "Spring Awakening" are "Sweeney Todd," "Assassins," "Into the Woods," "Rent," "Falsettos," "A New Brain," and "Bare: A Pop Opera." I have run out of things to say.

Bare: A Pop Opera is love.

Favorite Quotes:

"One day, you wake up and your baby's stolen a foot."--Ruth, "Six Feet Under"

"Deft, where ith thy thting?"--Claire, "Six Feet Under"

"Why is my friend special?"--David, "Six Feet Under"

"Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it. Like my heart's going to cave in."--"American Beauty"

"Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion."--"Donnie Darko"

"...we are driving in the sky, with clouds whipping over the road, the sun flickering through, the sky and ocean below. Only up here does the earth look round, only up here does the horizon dip at its ends, only up here can you see the bend of the planet at the edges of your peripheries. Only here are you almost sure that you are careening on top of a big, shiny globe, blurrily spinning...and we have been chosen, and have been given this, it being owed to us, earned by us, all of this--the sky is blue for us, the sun makes passing cars twinkle like toys for us, the ocean undulates and churns for us, murmurs and coos to us. We are owed, see, this is ours, see."--Dave Eggers, "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"

"Please, that bitch will outlive us all."--Isabel, "Weeds"

"It is so cool that you're gay. I totally underestimated you."--Kelly to Oscar, "The Office"

"I go up to my room, turn the stereo on,
Shoot up some you, and the you is some song.
I lie back just driftin' and play out these scenes
I ride on the rush of all the hopes and the dreams.
I may be neglecting the things I should do.
But we've all got our junk, and my junk is you."--"Spring Awakening"

"Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerf-herder!"--Princess Leia

"I love my dead, gay son!"--"Heathers"

"A little taken aback, I nodded and took out my cigarette case. It is flat and well-polished with my initials in Gothic script upon it, yet it has never been called upon to save my life by absorbing the impact of a bullet. That's what servants are for."--Mark Gatiss, "The Vesuvius Club"

"Denny Crane."--Denny Crane, "Boston Legal"

And possibly my all-time favorite bad lyrics:

"Will blood fulfill this thirst in me?
The thirst that sends them to their graves
The thirst for that which I now crave!"--"Lestat: The Musical"
